• Centered around the highest mountain of the Moravian uplands Javořice, 837m, the adjacent nature reserve is off limits to through traffic, but has an extensive network of secluded marked trails through pine forest for hiking and biking. (satellite photo)

• In the summer the woods have treasure-troves of blueberries, and wild mushrooms.

• Ideal picnic vantage points - rock formations,  fortress ruins, swimming lakes.

• A truly lovely swimming lake less than 10 minutes drive northeast, near Nová Ves.

• In nearby Janštejn, a glass-blowing factory is open to visitors for a small fee.

• The nearby small towns, Počátky, and Studená have shops, bank, restaurants etc.

• In the winter the entire region is ideal for cross-country skiing. 
  To the north Křemešník 765m, has an observation tower and a sizable ski run,
  other ski-runs in Čěřínek and in Jihlava itself
